Paraiso del Mar Golf & Country Club in La Paz is not only the first Arthur Hills-designed course and the first Audubon Signature Sanctuary in Mexico, it is also the country's first links layout. The club sprawls across 1,700 acres with more than 800 acres serving as wildlife sanctuaries. The golf course combines the best of two very different worlds with a dune-covered landscape that is reminiscent of a traditional Scottish course complemented by a temperate climate and lush, tropical scenery you'll never find in the British Isles. True to its links nature, the course employs the use of several deep pot bunkers but there is also bunkering built into the native vegetation that border the fairways. As a nod to the original links course, the Old Course at St. Andrews, there is a double green shared by the fourth and seventh holes.
