Beautiful scenery accompanies a round at Puerto Los Cabos. Photo submitted by JasonDeeganGA on 02/11/2014
Incredible!!!!!
Had the opportunity to enjoy vacation at the awesome JW Marriott and played Puerto Los Cabos. The course was hands down the most amazing course I've ever played, the views are simply priceless. Greg Norman front nine and back 9 Jack Nicholas makes this course unique in that you get the best of both the legends. The course offers food and drinks throughout the course and has some of the best possible views of the Sea Of Cortez. I will be back in 2018 FOR SURE...
Wedding Day Round
This was a great course and the third 9 will be ready in October. Challenging from every tee box and if you want to beat yourself up go all the way back to the pro tees. Not necessary challenging without the extra length because the greens are huge. Play it forward and enjoy a great experience. course conditions were fantastic and the comfort stations are great because your green fee includes all your food and drink and they will even make you fresh tacos or nachos. Great service. Permanent clubhouse under construction too! Go enjoy, you won't be disappointed. Great way to spend my morning with family before getting married in the evening. Cheers!
challenging but friendly track
Went to the Secrets Resort, which is excellent too, located next to the golf course. My wife and I really enjoyed the golf course. Most resort courses in Mexico are overly expensive and not memorable. Los Cabos was not cheap but well worth it. The course is routed around a mountain so you have lots of uphill and downhill shots to contend with. From the tee of the par 3 200 yard 6th hole, the drop to the green must be about 100 ft.It is a very exciting tee shot. Use about 2 less clubs because of the steep drop. You have break taking views to the surrounding areas on many holes.. The course is tough but fair. Challenging for all levels of golfers. The bonus at this course is that the green fees include all your food and drink. There are huts every 4 holes that makes fresh food and will provide you your favorite tequila drink. I would love to play this course again.
Puerto Los Cabos - a tale of two nines and two designers
This might be the most unique hybrid course in the world ... a nine by Jack Nicklaus and a nine by Greg Norman merged into one routing.
I like the Norman nine for its stunning views and its fun downhill drivable par-4.
The Nicklaus nine, opened in December 2007, climbs a mountainous par-5 on its first hole before eventually heading to the shore on the other side. I thought the course was too tough the first time I played it in 2009, but its charms have won me over. It's a keeper.
Eventually, Norman's Mission course will add nine more holes and become private. Likewise, Nicklaus' Marina course will eventually add another nine and stay open to the public. We'll see how long - if ever - it takes for that to happen. Long-range plans on the 2,000-acre property call for a 455-slip marina, two separate clubhouses, three beach clubs and room for six different hotels.
