My playing partner. 80 years old and still nailing his drives! Photo submitted by JettSpot on 07/11/2017
Perfect course!
Visited PV for the week and played this course with 3 buddies.
Wasn’t sure what to think but figured with it being home to the Mexican Open, it had to be at least decent.
It didn’t disappoint!
Grounds for resort were beautiful and the course was in epic shape(we played the Norman Course).
Caddy, Maxwell, was really helpful and knowledgeable.
All and all, I would 100% play here again, every day of my vacation if time allowed.
Don’t miss out, play this course
Not Worth It- Overrated
Really wanted to like this course. Was expecting so much more from a course on PGA Tour. I was hoping to take a picture of scenic holes and didn’t find any. Course is flat and uneventful. No signature holes, no holes along the ocean, nothing noteworthy at all, not even a water feature on the course. Totally overrated. Vidanta requires to have and pay for a caddie. The caddie I was assigned had absolutely no clue what he was doing. Claimed he was a 30 handicap and it showed he didn’t know how to play golf. Said he was taught by his father who never played golf. He would give yardages while sitting in a cart no where close to your ball. Luckily I brought my own rangefinder since he was off by 5-8 yards on most shots. Wouldn’t even walk up to the tee box. His reads on putts would be so off that the putt would literally break in the opposite direction than his read. After the second hole I stopped listening to him. His only contribution was directing us in the maze of cart paths that led to the next tee box.
Bottom line, it seems like Vidanta uses the course as an incentive to get people to sit through time share presentations and do not know how to run a golf course. Don’t even have a bar and grill at the clubhouse. Had to take a shuttle cart to get a beer afterwards. Don’t waste your time and money on this course. Played Oct 2023.

Great afternoon for some golf
It was a beautiful afternoon, a nice breeze blew all afternoon making the heat tolerable.
The course is beautiful! Fairways are plush, traps are soft but the greens are still recovering from being recently punched. They were bumpy and made for some very disappointing putting.
My caddie, Polo was great and kept me from biting off more than I could chew. We had a great afternoon, played 18 in just over 3hrs. There wasn't many people on the course. I was also disappointed that the beverage cart never showed up!
A bit pricey but a beautiful course to enjoy. I only wish the greens were in better shape.
Excellent course!
The course was great, I only play the back nines twice because the from nine was closed due maintenance!
Great course!
Worth the visit if you are in Vallarta. The layout is great and the course is in perfect condition.
Perfectly manicured course!
I played this course with one other person August ‘23 and it exceeded both our expectations in terms of the course conditions, layout, caddie and amenities. The course is home to the Mexico Open and is kept in immaculate condition. Caddie’s are mandatory, which we were hesitate about, but it proved to be a great decision as the layout of the course and resort itself is difficult to navigate unless you know where you’re going. Our caddie Romeo (I believe I spelled it correctly) was super helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. He helped keep the pace of play and broke down the approach to each shot.
Only down sides was the cart girl didn’t reach us until hole 10 and there were no clubhouses or break rooms along the course.
Overall, would highly recommend to anyone in the PVR area.
Very expensive, but next level
Some background - I am a novice golfer who is new to the sport, happy to break 100 most days. This is my first time playing a golf course featured on the PGA tour. It was, by far, the nicest golf course I’ve ever played. The layout was great, a lot of risk/reward options, and creativity. Multiple island greens for par 3 play, and one really interesting feature with a large island featuring a par 5 on one side, and a short part 4 on the other.
Of course, the cost is very high, and there are some hidden fees. I played this course in early August, which was not a busy time. I still paid $180 for the tee time, $56 for club rental, and my partner and I had a mandatory caddy which we shared for $40 plus tip. My caddy Hector was very helpful and encouraging. It was my first time playing with a caddy, I have no idea whether this fee was high or low.
The other difficult aspect was actually getting to the course from a different hotel. It was a short drive to the front of the resort, but be warned that there is another 10 minutes of driving to be done on resort property to a security station, a long wait for a golf cart ride from there to the pro shop, and a labyrinthine ride from there to the driving range and first hole. All told, we were told to expect a 45 minute commute, which might make an early tee time difficult, especially if you want to spend some time at the driving range beforehand.
But it was still a very memorable vacation experience. If you want top level golf in PVMX, this is definitely it.

El campo estaba agujerado y no se encontraba en las condiciones óptimas
Great course
Nice layout. Not too hard, not too easy. Played in the afternoon and nobody out there but me and Jose my caddy. He was good, but I was unaware it was mandatory with a 400 peso fee. It’s a bit much when playing alone, be nice if they would have put me with someone to split the fee. Overall would play again. Very fast and fun round
Punched Greens No Heads up
Overall beautiful place, I played at 2p and saw one other cart the entire round. Finished in less than 3.5 hours. Caddy Pablo was great and helpful. No heads up on punched greens and man were they rough. Would play a different course next time. Takes a while to get to the pro shop via cart
Back Nine Closed
You should notify that the course is under maintenance and the back nine is closed at Golfnow, before making the reservation.
I was notified until I arrived to the Clubhouse
Aeration blues
I booked on Golfnow.Com. I didn’t see any mention while booking that the course was recently aerated and that only the front nine was available. I still enjoyed the course and really was happy with my caddie Elisio.
