Riviera Cancun Golf & Resorts
About
The Riviera Cancun Golf Club is the most recent addition to Cancun. Jack Nicklaus has done remarkable job carving this gem using the natural contours of the terrain, this course boasts strategic bunkering, immaculate greens, wooden bridges and the peaceful tranquility of the natural reserve that surrounds the course. Golfers will also enjoy the ocean views on holes 14 and 15.
The spectacular Mexican-Contemporary Club house greets guests before they begin their journey over bridges, through the dunes, mangroves and lakes which are only some of the elements which make this course visually stunning. The resort is 100% Mexican owned and is located in the Hotel Zone and only 5 minutes from the airport.

Follow-up to Previous Reveiw
Follow-up with GolfNow regarding my booking. I dealt with a very nice customer service rep, who kindly took my issue to her Manager and the problem was resolved. They issued me a full credit to be applied to my future GolfNow bookings.
All I wanted at the golf course was to be treated like a normal, decent human being! Unfortunately, the staff at the Riviera Cancun Golf Club were unable to use common sense to deal with a customer. So, again they have lost a customer for life; and one who will tell all his friends about the horrible experience dealing with them.
GolfNow, on the other hand, has secured my business for life by treating me with common sense and the diginty we all deserve.
Thanks very much to GolfNow.
Extremely Upset
Apparently, I booked our threesome one day early in error. The counter staff didn't care and basically said "to bad, so sad."
Then they wanted to charge us $195.00 each to play when we had booked for $89.00 + taxes, etc..
One would think they would accomodate an obvious error. We paid for the round and they obviously got paid by Golf Now for the round. We just wanted to work something out....squeeze us in or give us credit for a future date if they had no tee times.
So, they just lost a customer for life.
Caddie stoles
Caddie stoles! Lost over $1,000 value items. Watch your items. We’re visiting this course for like three times in one week so caddie chats with us and knows about it was our last day in Cancun there. The guy who cleans our clubs holds our bags until our driver arrived so we didn’t have time to double check our items. Caddie stolen our rangefinder and an iron 10. So our whole iron set is useless now. We contacted them but got no response. The front desk just gave us a fake number to contact for the investigation so absolutely there is no investigation.
Great course with value
Booked for 4 players course was very wet from earlier rain so cart path only
Course was beautiful bunkers were full of water.
All the beer and snacks / lunch included
Highly recommended
Needs some changes and more upkeep
Driving range is a joke and the balls are horrible to prevent people from using them on the course. As the the cheapest balls in the pro shop are noodles for $5 USD a piece so definitely bring your own balls and extra as the course has a lot of hazards. The other disappointment was the sand traps being unplayable. Either completely waterlogged or extremely packed down sand with large rocks all over. Besides that, the course layout is fun and challenging. Difficult and fairly fast greens. Course and restaurant has a strict 4pm close so plan accordingly with your tee time.
Only issue would be the condition of the bunkers. There was a storm the day before but the sand is more like gravel.
Cancun riviera
Great layout, very challenging, bring lots of balls
Course is wet most of the times, so soft spots, ball will plug, or go nowhere
Greens are excellent
Just another round of golf
Nothing to get excited about. No signature holes. Drink and food (just popcorn and chips) cart very basic. Only one bathroom on course so don’t drink too much. Crocs all over the place so don’t look for your lost balls.
Excellent layout!
The course has a great layout, challenging but fair. The wind made it tougher. My one complaint was that quite a few sand traps were "ground under repair."
Great course close to the Hotels
Excellent option for the player looking to play but doesn't want to drive way out to the other courses. Wait for the HOT Deals to get lower than the clubhouse rate definitely makes a better option
Great Track
The staff are great..the course & greens were in great shape.. the pace of play was good & food/beverage cart was on point... wortha shot if in area....
Reasonable price & good customer service!
This course was by far the least expensive course in the area with the Hot Deal I purchased on Golfnow. The downside was that transportation from my hotel was not included. The quoted taxi rate was $50 USD one way for a 15 min ride. I opted for Uber instead which was only $25 USD round trip with tip included. Course condition was overall good with some bare areas on the fairways that require attention. Bunkers were really not playable although I did play them. Greens were fast & challenging. And there are mosquitoes biting especially in the shaded areas around the tee box. The best part of the experience was the customer service. All the attendants at the golf course were friendly and very helpful!
Fun course
Very fun. Not crowded. Very friendly staff.
Pro shop prices are a bit high.
Great iron course
Great course layout well positioned hazards good iron play required to score. Pace of play a little slow due to inexperienced golfers playing of harder tee boxes Should be rated on there handicap status. Only disappointing thing bunkers unplayable on most holes but this is out of season and may get better hopefully other than that good golf course and test of golf
Round one of two played.
Excellent course overall. Incredible value for the money (drinks and food included in the price). Is located a short drive from the resorts area. You have to be careful not to stand close to the ponds or the jungle as there are crocodiles around (a fairly good size walked about 80 yards away toward the fairway). Highly recomended.
Great Experience
I rated my experience on its potential. The golf course sent a shuttle to pick up my party at our resort. Upon arrival they had coffee, juices and pastries available. The staff was very friendly and explained the entire process in detail; the course layout, the “all-inclusive” food, drink & cocktails and the restaurant hours. The rental clubs were quality clubs although pretty worn, the golf carts were old and worn but had plenty of power for the entire round. Unfortunately for my round, it had rained heavily for a few days prior and during our round several times which put a little damper on our play and left the course flooded in several spots. Also, it seems like they try to shut down the course by 3pm so make sure your tee time is before 10am if you want to experience the “all-inclusive” experience! We only got 14 holes in, maybe only 16 if it hadn’t rained on us. Overall a beautiful course, fantastic fairways & greens and a great experience.
Awesome
Course is excellent as you expect It’s Jack Nicklaus course designed you all know
