Marina Vallarta Golf Club
About
Marina Vallarta Golf Club is known for its stunning tropical landscape that is home to an abundance of wildlife. Golfers have the opportunity to play amongst iguanas and alligators while enjoying scenic views of the Bay of Banderas. The course is blessed with a bevy of natural hazards including towering palm trees, lagoons, and waterfalls. Colorful tropical flowers and native vegetation further accent the landscape. In addition to the natural hazards, there are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The golf course offers a challenging but fair test that is not overly demanding, which is probably for the best since it is easy to get distracted by the beautiful surroundings. Given its versatility and scenery, Marina Vallarta G.C. has become a popular venue for various golfing events, including the Governor's Cup Pro/Am Tournament.

Golf in Puerto Vallarta
This is a very good course that is easy to get to and has great value for the money. It has a broad range of difficulty to appeal to a lot of golfers at various levels. The first hole is the number one handicap hole and things get a little easier on the back. They have done a great job recovering from a flood earlier this year and the place is in good shape. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to play.
Golf on the beach in Puerto Vallarta
A really good course close in near the airport. Staff is really great and it's a good value for the money. You start off on a par 5 that is the number one handicap hole. After that the course is very balanced in terms of difficulty. Harder than a pure recreational course but not as tough as a tournament course. Easy to get to and reasonably priced.
Fairways in rough shape, course needs attention
We’ve played the course once or twice a year for a decade. This is the roughest we’ve seen it.
The starter was excellent. The people at the bag drop were non-existent. We carried our bags to and from the taxi. It seems if you are not a member, you don’t exist. For the price, service was well below expectations
Also, the fairways have a lot of dead areas (to big to call them spots). Tee boxes are beat up and greens had a lot of pebbles, etc
People don’t seem to think they should rake the sand trap after playing
Enjoyable course but for the pace of play.
The course layout is enjoyable and is fun to play on vacation. It is quite challenging, with a fair amount of water. The course is generally in good condition. The round was spoiled by the pace of play. We waited on every shot on the last few holes on the front nine, and the whole of the back nine. The course lends itself to a 3.5 hour round or less, but ours took over 4 and a quarter hours. I would enjoy playing it with a good pace of play.
Staff very friendly and helpful grandsons 1st time golfing treated him well
Great place in the middle of the city.
It was very interesting to play with challenges for focusing, but fun. The airport is a couple miles from the course, and there are iguanas and wild birds around, but it gives more thrill to the experience. The temperature this time of the year is phenomenal to be outdoors, is hot, but not as hot as summer, is a very comfortable weather to play in. Considering that you could literally walk from any of the hotels around to the golf course, is a very accesible place to play.
Marina GC
Nice course, makes you think about your shots and possibly laying up due to water hazards. Staff are always pleasant and attentive.
Marina Vallarta Golf Course...check!
Great place with the flavor of the nostalgic "Pueblito" arquitecture, and contemporary service and facilities. loved it!
Nice Enough Course
I'd like to say that I both enjoyed the round that I had and also think that it's a little bit overpriced. Some fun holes to play, but a little beat up.
One thing to note as a local. They don't take your gov't issued ID as proof of being a local. They want you to bring a utility bill in your name. -eyeroll-
Tough little course
Lots of sand and water. Fairways good shape but lots of ball marks!!! Can be slow play at times with no field marshal.
Mixed
I play here fairly often and sometimes I find the conditions below what I would normally expect. Compared to my home in Canada, PV golf seems more expensive and the conditions are worse. Grass on greens and tee boxes has been scalped., divots have not been filled by staff bunkers are stony, trimmed brush is pushed to the side and not collected.
The staff are great and the club house is fantastic, though the locker room is an ice box!
Warning to the first time players, there is a lot of water so bring extra balls. The crocodiles {and they are BIG] restrict opportunities to fish out a ball.
Overpriced
First time playing this course. Quite like the layout. The lady at the front counter was quite nice as were the 2 starters. They got us out right away which was nice as we were an hour early. The tee boxes and fairways were very rough with not a lot of grass on either. The greens were not too bad. The worst part was the cost of drinks on the course. $15 for a drink is way out of line. That is why we normally bring our own. Would not play this course again for the amount they charged for the green fees.
Meh
We paid MXP 330 more than the conversion from Golf Now rate to Pesos. When we asked the pro shop about this, she tried to explain very curtly and quickly but we didn’t understand her. I paid anyway bec I figure we started earlier and it was worth more than what I booked.
The starter was friendly but that’s where the nice ended. The golf course was just okay, the pace was extremely slow and made golfing a lot less fun. I think a marshal would’ve been a good idea.
We asked the pro shop woman to call us a cab and she sighed ( as if it is super hard) before she did.
This was a very unhospitable golf course and I will take my $ elsewhere on my next golf trip.
Beautiful land lacking love
Nice location, nice challenge, nice layout, green in good condition but too slow. On the other hand, the grass is yellow, lack of love and maintenance, aging land, several houses bordering the land in very average condition, it is not good value for money.
Unfriendly staff.
You have to get the ice bucket your self and pay 100 pesos. They would not clean or take the clubs from the cart.
We have to go to main road to get the taxi.
If you have twilight time booking don't try to go earlier because they would check you in only 15 minutes early and wouldn't let you play early even if the course is empty.
Terrible to have to buy a drink just to get a bucket of ice. Green fees not worth it compared to Vista Vallarta
